CrossRoad Church is about connecting with people and we’d love to meet you!  We meet weekly on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. for worship, teaching, fellowship and to reconnect with others on the walk of faith with us.

We gather at the ConXions Gymanstic Center (1725 Memphis Street, Hernando, MS).

Frequently Asked Questions about Worship at CrossRoad

What do I Wear?

This question is first because its the most frequently asked question.  CrossRoad is a casual place.  On a Sunday morning you will see a lot of blue jeans, some t-shirts, and occasional dress and maybe a tie or two.  On any given Sunday you can also count on a Cowboy Hat or a leather motorcycle jacket.  In other words, we’re a lot more concerned about you then we are your clothes.  Wear what you are most comfortable wearing.

What Can I Expect When I Walk in the Door?

You’ll be greeted by someone before you ever make it to the door.  Once inside, you’ll be invited to wear a name tag  (everyone at CrossRoad does, it helps us talk to one another), greeted by some more people, pointed to the refreshment table to grab a cup of coffee or a donut if you like.  You’ll probably run into our pastor, Dave Lewis.  You’re welcome to stand around and visit  (CrossRoad people like to talk!) or you can take a seat and enjoy the music before the service.

What is your service like?

Our worship service is focused on Jesus and usually lasts about 75 minutes.  We believe Jesus is present with us when we gather in his name and with his Word.  There is music and singing, led by the CrossRoad Band.   Most of the songs are what you might hear on a contemporary Christian radio station, with an occasional old favorite thrown in.  Worship is important to us so we are reverent but we don’t take ourselves too seriously so their will also be some laughter and fun.  There is a reading from the Bible, prayers, a time of teaching by our pastor –usually about 30 minutes –  and on many weeks the celebration of the Lord’s Supper for those who wish to receive it.  We invite you to come and experience what God is doing here.  You won’t be embarrassed or put on the spot.

Is there Something for the kids?

Absolutely.  We love kids at CrossRoad.  First thing to know is that children are always welcome to stay with their parents in worship but if mom and dad prefer we have nursery care and learning time for kids.  For the youngest children – under age two – we have a professionally staffed nursery with a regular attendant and security sign in system.

For children age three  through 5th grade we have weekly children’s church. We also ask parents to register their children to make sure security is all covered.  Because we think its important for kids to learn how to worship with others in a “service” setting they begin with their parents in the regular service.  They join in the singing of songs, listening to the Bible reading and prayers.  When the adult teaching time begins they are dismissed for Children’s Church where dedicated teachers share the message of Jesus in a way that is more relevant for children.  There is a Bible story, craft and prayer time each week.

Will I be asked to make a commitment?

If by “commitment” you mean:  Will I be asked to come up front or be put on the spot?   The answer is “no.”  We hope you will make the “commitment” to take what you hear and see and experience seriously and consider what God may be working in your life.

Are there refreshments?

Every week there is great coffee, snacks and juice for the kids.  There is nothing better than a cup of coffee and a donut to help you meet new friends.

Where is the ConXion Gymnastics Center?

1725 Memphis Street is right off Hiway 51N in Hernando.  Coming from the North you turn right just past the nursery and before the railroad bridge.  From the Square you go under the railroad bridge and turn left.  The ConXion Center is on the left side of the road about three blocks ahead.
